Stort Chemicals Ltd. is one of the leading independent speciality chemical distributors to the Coatings and Flavour & Fragrance Industries in the UK & Ireland. Formed in 1981 and celebrating its Silver Jubilee in 2006, it is still 100% family-owned, with the two founding Directors, Kendrick and Marguerite Gilkes, still actively involved.
We specialise in technical sales and distribution and are always keen to add to our portfolio of products and welcome approaches from raw material manufacturers who are looking to introduce their products into the UK market or are looking for an experienced team to improve their sales penetration.
On January 1st, 2005, Stort Engineering Services joined the Stort Group, with the task of handling the sales and servicing in the UK of the COROB® range of paint-dispensing & mixing machines from CPS COLOR GROUP.
On July 1st, 2008, Stort Engineering changed its name to StortEskens Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture between Stort Chemicals Ltd. and Eskens BV. Eskens (www.eskens.com) has been the CPS machinery partner in Benelux for over 20 years.
On November 2nd., 2006, Stort Chemicals Ltd. acquired the business of Templar Chemicals Ltd., a well-established distributor to the coatings industry. This acquisition added a number of additional strong product-lines to our portfolio of raw materials.
LATEST NEWSOn May 1st., 2008, Stort Chemicals Ltd. was appointed the official UK distributor for Ciba Business Line Inks & Printing, substantially enhancing our offering to the Ink industry.
